Organizing
an action
When you are organizing an action or a demonstration, always
contact the Arrestantengroep beforehand (you can make an appointment
via the telephone or
over e-mail, so the details can be discussed face to face). Please
realize that arrests can and do happen at peaceful, entirely legal
actions too. It is important for the participants in any form of
protest to know their rights, and to have the necessary support
in case something goes wrong.
Contacting a lawyer, making flyers, finding people who can do the
Arrestantengroep work etc. always takes some time. So please
don't wait until the very last moment! Lawyers especially
are notoriously difficult to find last-minute. If you have not arranged
for a lawyer beforehand this can cause major problems for the people
who get arrested, and it will create a tremendous amount of work
for both you and the Arrestantengroup.
If you have competent people available you might consider running
your own arrestantengroep. Of course we can help you with this,
in fact we'd love to. At some point there will be an extensive how-to
guide for this on this website, for now we are asking you to call
or e-mail us so we can meet up and offer our support.
There
is now also an Arrestantengroep in Utrecht
