Supporting arrested people

You can often support prisoners by writing to them. For a list of political prisoners' names and addresses you can check this website or that of ABC, who have a much larger list.

Another way to support prisoners is to make noise where they're being held, so they know they're not forgotten. Sometimes you can bring them packages, sometimes the police refuse to accept these even though they are obliged to. Don't give in too soon, know your rights and stand your ground. If you know the prisoners personally you can visit them, if they are in a prison or remand centre. There are lots of different rules and regulations, often the prisoner has to put you on a list or let you know when s/he can receive visitors. Contact the Arrestantengroep if you need assistance.
